Tina M. Lugo has been in business, with the technical help of her husband, for three years. They sell high quality t-shirts with adorable graphics. Most of the t-shirts are for kids, but they do sell shirts for mom, dad, grandma and grandpa too.

We, at Internet Based Moms, decided to interview Tina because as we did a search on Google.com and Yahoo.com, we typed in “kids t-shirts”, and guess who was number one?

Why, it was www.kid-t-shirts.com . We knew this company would be an inspiration to all you Internet Based Moms.

Tina’s business is run solely online and the web site was designed by her husband.

They decided to start this business through a friend who was already selling t-shirts at a local flea market.

He allowed Tina and her husband to purchase the products from him as they needed, resulting in a minimal start up cost for this company.

Tina gladly offers advice to other fellow Internet Based Moms. She says the key to success to any home based business is customer service. Most importantly, in
order to have success on the Internet, you must have good search engine placement. You cannot rely on word of mouth on the world wide web. She
insists the way to achieve good placement on search engines is:

Keyword placement and not repeating the same words over and over again. If
you use the same words over and over again, search engines consider this to
be
spam.

Her husband did hours and hours of research on the subject of keywords, and
they finally achieved their goal: #1 on Yahoo! That’s how they knew success
had truly been achieved.

They plan to continue to expand their operations into more customized t-shirt options including placing pictures of family member on t-shirts.

We wish Tina and her husband continued success and consider them to be great role models.
