Find Your Market Niche

How do you find your market niche? Sometimes, it's by accident. You may be a mom of twins and you have developed a unique product to cater to your special needs. Voila! You have an instant market niche.

Other times you need to investigate a bit further. Here's some ideas to find your market niche:

1. Do Your Market Niche Research: Look around, ask questions, do online surveys about what products people could really use. What features of those products would they like to see; how much are they willing to pay, etc.

2. Listen to Your Customers: If you already have a product, determine who really benefits from this product? Do you already have a typical customer? Is it people who take the bus to work each day; individuals who homeschool their children? Ask your customers questions on how you can improve your product to meet their needs.

3. Experiment with Your Market Niche: The beauty of the Internet is that it allows for experimentation as you define your target market. You can even build a few websites inexpensively that target different markets, pricing points or that emphasize the quality of your products.

4. Look at Yourself to Find Your Market Niche: Are you a single mother, a nuclear scientist or a poet? Sometimes you can be a part of your own niche...making you an instant expert and someone that your website visitors and newsletter subscribers can turn to for advice. Solve a problem for your target group and you'll have a loyal following forever.
