I don't have a degree. I have a lot of certifications (Army, Navy, my current job now) and use them in my current employment (network specialist).

My "dream" was to be a veteranarian. But I went in the Army instead. So I guess I became a "vet" after all!!! LOL

I earned a BA in Journalism with minors in Public Relations and Art. I worked for a couple of newspapers after I graduated, but quit when I had my son.

I feel like I'm using the skills I learned in my current business even more than I did just covering the police and courthouse beats for the newspaper. LOL!

I have a BS in computer science and general physics. I don' t use these things directly in my work, but I feel that all of my intelligence goes into everything that I do in life. That is why it always bothers me when I here someone say, "Why do I have to learn this?". All knowledge has value.

Well I'm a legal support specialist...took me some time to figure out what I wanted to first I was going to be a lab tech and found out I don't get those microscopes and studying those different cells of animals didn't work for me...then I discovered I'm add. Got pregnant, then married, then when I was married and pregnant went for add testing...found out I am...took some time off....and talked to someone and she said I work great in the office...

I thought well....I have done a lot of computer stuff since I was in the 6th grade. Well maybe I should. So, I switched to a Admin Support Specialist. Then started taking typing classes and I was so nauseous I couldn't complete those classes...took about a year off raised my baby...worked from home (some kinda ebooks on HTML I was selling?) Then said okay I got to have a job. So went to work for auto dealership that didn't work...then got pregnant again...and dumped husband (lazy bum) and went back to school as a Legal Support Specialist.

Found online corporate transcription, then went back to work...then direct I'm a court I do use my educational experience...and MAJOR research...and I love what I do because I can do it all on my time...oh and I've worked for a couple of attorneys and the state food stamp office too (that was a mess!!). I used a lot of my experience there. I would make up programs to print all at one time rather than printing every single letter and write another one...I made a data base...then I set up a scheduling system on their server...and delt with a lot of confused people...even the case workers were confused because they weren't trained right...I even had the opportunity to become one because I knew the code book so well. (I used to study it, because the case workers had no clue to what they were doing) I use to "guide" case workers into the correct code to put onto the form...becuase I was the admin support and not the actual caseworker I didn't have the authority to do it...but the supervisor or the supervior of the case workers wanted me to get 2 more years and I could be one too. I didn't want to have crazy clients or the frustrated ones in my office...I don't have the patience for them!!

Wow that was long hope it was interesting for ya!

Leslie, I thought what you wrote was interesting. I now know a little more about you.

I majored in English, but I don't think I use my college degree. Enjoyed the books we read though. Oh, also enjoyed learning new and interesting things.

Way back in the "Dark Ages"... aka "Summer of Love" I got my Bachelor of Music Education degree. That and a buck would buy me a cup of coffee.

Hence, I've never taught music in public schools.

Over the years, I've had careers in food... everything from restaurant management to owning a USDA-inspected specialty meat processing plant.

I took 10 years out to carve a career in electronics. I started out as a hardware assembler and worked my way up to electronic technician.

For the past 10 years, I've worked for myself, either in network marketing, or Internet Marketing.

Last year, I retired, moved to SW Utah to raise sheep, chickens and horses and write a book.

Two months ago I was coaxed out of retirement to work with a team launching a young network marketing company.

Oh... about the music... I was the choir director at church for three years.
