Client Invoicing

Postby tishialee on Fri Jul 27, 2007 9:12 pm

All my clients pay via paypal so I use the invoice template feature paypal has to offer.

I just picked up a new client last week that will be paying by check each month.

So my question is - what would be a good way for me to generate an invoice for her?

In situations where I've been faced with the same thing, I email their invoice with a CC to myself so it shows we both got the same info at the same time. You could also choose to fax it to her. Many printers have fax options. ;)

I really really dislike it when clients choose this method. It takes so much longer for the money to clear. *sigh*

I always email my clients a regular invoice that they can print out & then send a payment request through PayPal. I just made up my own invoice but there are some free templates you can download that work with excel.

I also generally receive payment through Paypal. But I generally use an Excel template and email the invoice to them.

tishia,

I know many who get a template from MS Office and alter it to fit their needs. Here is the link to a search for invoice templates there.

Microsoft I know has many so check the link Lace posted. If you're using excel or word then that'd be a good place to get them. You can also Google "invoice template" and it will give you several places to look.

The excel ones typically do part of the math for you, like figuring your totals but you may have to do a bit of tweaking to get it to do just what you want.

I bought Quickbooks for my accounting last year and so I've been doing up an invoice in there and sending it to them. I used to do the paypal invoice but now I just send the invoice by email and tell them the paypal address to pay at.

I've used Microsoft Publisher for a time, but found that some people don't use that. I think software like Open Office would have some templates, as well.
