Are you freezing to bits this weekend?

Postby LorettaOliver on Sat Jan 17, 2009 3:13 pm

It seems like it's cold everywhere this weekend! Brrrrr. Even down here in Virginia, we're colddddd. We had single digit temps yesterday morning when the kids went to the school bus. Today it's still pretty cold, but at least it's not windy anymore.

It's snowing here (although not much). I put my kid on the bus this morning (at 6am) and 20 minutes later, they drop her off because the school decided to close for the day. Grrr! I don't understand why the school cannot make a decision earlier... it's not like it just started snowing at 6:00 & caught them off guard... it had been snowing since 4am.

I wish it would snow 6" or more. That's one thing I miss about living in the Pacific NW, snow... REAL snow, not this tiny 1/16 of an inch kind of stuff.

But back to the original question... it's a little cold here, about 20* but not as cold as it was a few days ago when it hit zero. Brrr!

Yikes on the last minute decision to close! That can seriously mess things up. Thinking about how many parents dropped their kids off at the bus stop and drove off to work or the grocery store when the bus left.... what the heck?!?! That's just asking for trouble on the school's part.

School was canceled here today too. The automated system called us at about 5:30 am to let us know. Scared the pee out of me when that phone rang that early in the morning! We were supposed to get 4 inches of snow .... so far, not a single flake! not one! the kids are totally bummed out.

Yep, yep, yep, freezing my peach fuzz off. I'll be a nectarine before the spring thaw if this keeps up!

Don't usually mind the cold but this year just seems to be relentless or I am just getting older and feeling it more LMAO.

Haven't decided which...think I will go with it just being relentless just so I don't have to admit that getting older affects your body in anyway

Definitely relentless. None of us here are old enough to be complaining about our age ;) We're all only 25!

Well...I wore a t-shirt when I went out this afternoon. Sorry everyone.

Don't worry, though. When it's 110 degrees here this summer and I'm burning my hands on my steering wheel and seatbelt buckles, you can all rub my face in it, and tell me how pleasant it is where you live.

Yuck! Stay warm!

It's raining here again. I think that's all we ever get, rain, rain and more rain.

We've seen a bit of everything the last couple days. Yesterday, the trees and power lines had ice hanging off of them from the freezing rain. Today, it is sleet and snow. Although I love the snow and wish we had more of it, I am thankful that I don't have to battle the slush to go to work.

Just hope everyone that just got hit with that truly relentless winter storm are staying warm tonight...heard there are ALOT of power outages and treacherous driving :(
