Pierogies and Kielbassa Recipe

1 pkg. (16.9 ounce) frozen potato and cheddar pierogies
8 oz. kielbasa, thinly sliced
1 onion, quartered thinly sliced
1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
4 c. packaged fresh coleslaw mix
1 apple, cored, quartered and thinly sliced

In a large skillet, heat 1 Tbsp. oil over medium heat. Add pierogies; cook, turning once, until tender and lightly browned, 8-10 minutes. Transfer to plate. To same skillet over medium-high heat, add kielbasa, onion and caraway seeds; cook, stirring, until lightly browned, 5 minutes. Stir in coleslaw mix, apple, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper; cook until tender, 3 minutes. Add 1/2 cup water and pierogies; cook, stirring for 1 minute. Serve with coarse-grain mustard if desired.

This is a dead giveaway that you're from central PA ~lol~ :lol: I was baffled when we moved down here to Virginia and you ask for pierogies and people look at you like you've just escaped from the loony farm! Very few stores down here even carry the premade Mrs.T's frozen kind! The more south you go, the crazier they think you are too. Order Pierogies & Kielbasa in Georgia and they might have you committed on the spot :P
