If Google Died Tomorrow...

Postby Dale King on Wed Dec 19, 2007 2:10 pm

I'm a member of several different forums, and I've noticed that a lot of businesses have made a fatal mistake by putting all of their eggs into one basket when it comes to marketing. In other words, they're going to sink or swim with Google.

Here's my question: If Google ceased to exist tomorrow, would you be able to adapt and stay afloat financially? If so, how? Do you have a contigency plan?

For me, Google is just one marketing resource.

There are so many marketing resources out there today it doesn't make sense to put all of your eggs in one basket.

Google is an important part of most online businesses, whether you use them for search engine rankings, traffic, or adsense.

But, if they fell off the face of the earth, there are a plethora of other sites and opportunities available.

And I do hope that everyone is diversifying.

It is always to put eggs into different baskets.

I have way more word of mouth than google. Google brings me the most funky things for my blogs as well. lol Considering how many visitors I get a month to certain sites/blogs it's cool to see that google does not play a big part in it. I guess if I really worked my SEO better then I'd have even more traffic.
