Katie,

There are a ton of great networking sites like Internet Based Moms. The key is to focus on providing helping tips and information. Networking is building relationships with people.

There are many ways to develop a presence online....the key is to focus on a couple, master them and then add one or two more.

The key is providing value to others and when you do that, people will start seeing you as a leader and want to follow.

There are many, many different forums you can visit. Just do a search and try to find one that fits your objective. If you're visiting a forum where people may want to learn about signing up for direct sales opportunity then make sure the link leads to that page. If you're visiting a forum where people may want to buy your products then the link should lead to the products and so on... in other words, have a clear purpose of what you want to happen when you network.

I also recommend concentrating on other business building activities like advertising, writing some articles, adding content to your site... anything that will help build your business.

Katie,

Are you using MySpace? I have a MySpace account. I try to use it regularly along with forums and all the other activities mentioned here.

You're in the right place :D and don't be afraid to try others like Twitter and Facebook. Those two works for me well.

I like twitter a lot! Twittermoms I found through using twitter. I also use facebook and a few other forums. I have a myspace but honestly only use it for staying in touch with people not business focused there. There are so many networking places. I have been here for years and this is my top of the list forum!

Internet Based Moms, (you're already here, so that's great ;))
Twitter, (my favorite little addiction -lol-)
My Wahm Space, (like my space but for wahms)
and like Mila already suggested, look for forums, communities, and blogs etc... that fit your objective. Once you find a few, they will likely lead you to others, and it's just a chain reaction from there. Finding the first few is the hard part, after that it gets easier.

What about LinkedIn? I've found it to be a great way to combine real-life with online networking.

Thanks for the My WAHM Space recommendation ladies!

I just wanted to stress what network marketing is all about. I know many get confused and think they can just visit a ton of sites a few times a year and this will bring them tremendous traffic and sales.

Networking is interacting and learning from others. It's sharing information and not just pushing links and products. Network marketing is work, but truly rewarding and worth it. It's not an instant fix and will take time to build relationships with people.

So please think of that before you are looking for networking sites. You may be looking for ADVERTISING sites in reality.
