I'm not familiar enough with the two programs to help make a comparison, hopefully someone out there can help you talk through this. I'm sure other shops are going through a similar thing if the upgrade was recent.

It's always a bummer when a great resource jumps from free to quite pricey.

I've never used ocommerce but I found some tutorials on how to use it and they have a pretty active forum for help and such. Here are few links you may want to check out:

I would probably switch because if I'm going to have challenges with a program (and most will offer some), it might as well be a free program. Besides if you don't like it, you can always go back or to something else without losing anything but a little setup time.
