Twitter Powered Businesses

Postby LorettaOliver on Wed Jan 28, 2009 9:45 pm

I love Twitter, that's no secret. I read this article today and was just fascinated by the great use of Twitter for a coffee shop business to increase their customers in Houston, Texas

http://blog.mrtweet.net/twitter-to-go-h ... -clientele

Recently, CoffeeGroundz was the venue for a Houston Tweetup that Cohen nicknamed “The Great Twitter Party”. Nearly 100 Houston Twitterites spent a lovely Sunday afternoon there at the largest Houston Tweetup to date.

Just totally awesome.

OK twitter is definitely a good HOT marketing tool today. Host a coffee gathering at a local shop wow it is not a bad idea.

I am new to twitter but love it and have seen lots of hits to our sites and had a few orders. It is a great place to chat and promote our Bath, Body, & Spa products. We sell retail, Wholesale, & Private Label.

Give it some time and keep networking with like minded people and you'll definitely start seeing bursts of traffic from Twitter. Make sure you have your link in your profile as well so people can click through easily.

Have you followed anyone yet or joined into any discussions yet? I know it can be overwhelming at first. What's your twitter name?

Loretta,
How about starting a discussion where everyone can post their Twitter links?

I stickied it at the top of this section so we don't lose it ;)

Wow! Very inspiring story, truly innovative idea by Cohen. Maybe this is the motivation I need to devote more time in using Twitter, which sadly I haven't done in almost a month now. :(

I have signed up for Twitter but haven't really tried it. I could see it being good if you want to form a presence, but I am more of a behind the scenes person - I don't have an online identity and not sure I want to.

Have people found it useful for just general website promotion or is it more about making contacts?

I think Twitter is great for networking and keeping up to date. You can use it to be social and not do any marketing at all. That's the great thing about Twitter, it's what you want it to be at the time.
