I have posted a few ads on Craigslist with no success yet, but I keep trying, you never know when the right person will see your ad, plus it's free!

It seems too labor intensive to me unless you're advertising a product or service for a specific city. Or, is there a way to go national? I haven't seen it yet.

If you have the time, then why not? It's no harm to try since it's free. But I haven't heard from anyone who had success in posting there. IMO you won't really see it's efficacy until you try it out for yourself.

Yes I have tried posting in craigs list and you just have to be careful what section you put your ad in as it can be deleted by moderators if it does not fit their requirement.

However it is free and a good place to start as it is always a good idea to generate money through free ads before you start paying for ads so you dont burn yourself out.

Keep trying is the key persistence always pays off.. Good luck

I have only used craigs list to hire people such as article writers. Well, and to sell a car. :) When I read the rules I am not sure the rules allow for advertising certain types of business opportunities though I do see them there.

I tried to use it to get some "success" stories of successful work at home businesses for one of my sites and I only got spam.

It does seem like a lot of work too.

I have tried Craigslist and wasn't sure what kind of response to expect. I DO get traffic from my ads, amazingly. I have even had people from Craigslist sign up for my newsletter. What I did was to create an ad that I saved into a document. Once every 6 weeks or so, I re-post the ad onto Craigslist. It only takes a few minutes, sinc e they ad is already created.

I find that if I try to sell something from my website on Craigslist, I do not make any sales. I use the ads just to get traffic to my landing page where I ask them to sign up for my newsletter in exchange for a free report and audio.

Just remember that Craigslist doesn't like you posting the same ad too often or close together. Read their rules about this.

I recommend trying it! Experiment with categories.

bookluvver,
Nice idea to put a screenshot in your ad. I'll have to try that.

I think that Craigslist is an awesome place to advertise. You just need to keep track of your ads. If you try to post more than 2, they will delete both of them. They are also picky on where you post the ad. Some ads require phone verification. They have always allowed me to post one ad every 24 hours, and they make sure that it has actually been 24 hours on the dot.

It doesn't hurt to try it out, and see if you like it.

Hi, I've very recently tried posting on Craigslist and although I was apprehensive, it did "stick", lol. I've worded ad cautiously, taken a gentle approach--no aggressive, multiple ads. They now seem to verify with phone number requirements. Might be due to the recent "Craigslist Murderer" incident.

I'm trying to spread the word about my no fee, work from home directory, yet I only choose one page within it , such as "artist jobs", and have thus far been able to post.

Wishing everyone a great day,

Annie
