It is possible to sell them without a website. Like if you have a mailing list or another way to reach your target people - the people who will most likely buy your ebooks - you could market to them that way. You could sell it on various websites like amazon.com.

However, I would recommend getting a website anyway because most people want to read about the product; what it can do for them, the person who created it, etc.

I use HostGator.com for my website hosting.

I would say pretty much the same as Mel said. Having a website (even if it's a free blogger blog or something) helps people to learn about you and your product and encourages them to make a purchase.

How do you plan to deliver your eBook once it's purchased? Without a download page on a website, would you be emailing them to people everytime it's purchased...365 days per year?

Try freewebs.com or now known as webs.com.

Hi,

I agree with Mel on this... it's possible, but tough.

And I would highly recommend your own site, it's much easier. As for a host try this site:
webhostingjury.com

It lists practically all the hosts in existence and allows user comments for each as well as ranking each host -- that is if you haven't already gotten one since you posted March 4.

Here's how to sell w/o a site if you want to try it...

1. Buy advertising in ezines, newspapers, magazines and radio.
2. Set your email address in the ad.
3. Have folks contact you to place orders (and send their email address)
4. You reply with instructions on how and where to send payment.
5. Have folks send you the purchase price (cashier's check, personal check, etc. - whatever you're comfortable with).
6. Send your ebook in zip format and as an attachment to your customer's email address, or send a CD with the ebook burned onto it to their physical addy.

This method doesn't work as well as having your own site, but it DOES work.

Good luck!

Brian
