I think most of the business owners here would suggest that you select the "who" instead of the "what." By this, I mean decide Who your target market is and then discover What they need or are buying. It's impossible to go at it from the other direction because you can't be all things to all people.

Do you have a specific group or target market in mind?

People always need more education. But when times are not so good, people REALLY need continuing education and training--and they will pay for information with a lot of value.

What kind of knowledge do you have that you can package and sell?

What do you know that you can teach others through info products or teleseminars?

With the job situation as it is--there is even more interest now in starting a business, learning new technologies to stay ahead and working on personal growth.

Just some food for thought.

According to yesterday's economic numbers, WalMart is rising and everyone else is tanking. That tells me people are looking for value and low prices everyday!
