The Fine Art of Procrastination
September 25, 2007
You may have noticed that I lagged behind a bit on saying hello here. When Mila invited me, I intended to post right away, but my to-do list just wasn’t big enough to get it done. It takes a good sized to-do list to motivate me. If I only have a few things waiting for attention, I put them all off.
So now I’m saying a quick hello. It’s great to be here and I look forward to sharing some great information and good fun with all of you!

Ha! I know all about procrastination… nice to see you posting
Hi Linda
You’re not the only one who waits until the to-do list is a mile long before taking action. That’s one habit I’m trying to break. Maybe we can encourage each other.
Mara, I didn’t mean to give the impression that I want to change that habit. LOL!
Seriously though… it works for me so I see no reason to change. I try to carefully distinguish between my real shortcomings and those that others might consider to be my shortcomings. And I only work on the “real” ones. So while others may think procrastination is a bad habit that should be broken, I say we should celebrate it.
But then I don’t procrastinate on everything. I pride myself on customer service, so there are certain tasks I handle as soon as possible every day… new orders, customer questions… anything customer support related. And when I’m doing work for someone else, it gets priority too. I can meet deadlines when I need to.
I’ll be more than happy to encourage you to break the habit if it’s one of your “real” shortcomings. I’m all for self-improvement!
