Too Much Time on My Hands!
October 18, 2007
Well not really… I never seem to have enough time! But this week my youngest started full time school and it’s been a strange experience so far.
I pretty much haven’t had any full free days since my son was born nearly 11 years ago. Now that they’re all in school full days it feels strange.
Tuesday I went out for lunch and it sort of hit me… no more toddler playgroups, or mornings at the park or going out for nature walks and then strolling to the coffee shop. Of course, we can still do all those things on weekends and afterschool but it was still a strange feeling of now life being very routine and no more easy going mornings for us if that makes sense.
I’m sure you moms who have all your kids at school understand what i’m trying to say! Even though I feel very ready for this next phase in our lives and am looking forward to the kids being more grown up and doing more grown up things with them, there’s still a slight sense of loss… the baby and toddler days are definitely over in my house.
Can you tell I miss them? LOL

They don’t have to be over
lol I can guess how you’re feeling. Just my small taste of my toddler in preschool/therapy four days a week for 3 hours has given me an idea of what it would be like if I were to do the public school thing. (although I’m fairly certain I wont)
I know exactly how you’re feeling Mila. As much as I miss my children not being home I do find that I get all of my work done while they’re gone which gives me all the time I need with them when they are here.
No more trying to get a way while they’re doing an activity to work, which gives me more time to do things with them when they’re here.
I’ve almost always homeschooled (except for the first 9 weeks of kindergarten), so I don’t know what you mean by having too much time on your hands.
But, I have those rare occasions where my kids are at my inlaws or with their daddy that I have the whole house to myself. Ah, peace, wonderful peace.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving my free time
