Blogging for Profit
Blogging for the sake of blogging can certainly be a fun way to
communicate with your customers and prospects and blogging alone is
definitely a business building tool just like article marketing,
ezines, and free content. However, blogging also offers you as a
business owner the ability to make more money. Here are three common
ways to monetize your blog:
Affiliate marketing.
Blogs can be integrated into an affiliate marketing business to also
include valuable content and text links to products or they can be
an affiliate business site all by themselves. Meaning, you don’t
necessarily need anything more than a good blog to have an affiliate
marketing business.
Blog posts can be used to provide reviews for products you promote.
You can promote an affiliate product independently or as part of a
group of products with a similar purpose. When writing a blog
review, it is important to follow the same guidelines that you would
to publish a review on your website – namely that you’re objective
and the review offers valuable and helpful information.
Blog posts can also be used to provide useful information and
incorporate text links to your affiliate product or service. Text
links are one of the most powerful affiliate marketing tools
available.
Blogs can also show banner ads and textual advertisements for your
affiliate products in your sidebar.
AdSense and Advertising revenue.
AdSense is the Google advertising program whereby you get paid to
host relevant ads on your blog site. The process is fairly simple,
you visit Google, sign up and follow their instructions. There is an
approval process involved, so you will want to have your blog
established before you apply.
Once you’re approved, you enter your tax and payment information and
begin making your choices, content, search, etc…Once you choose your
link type and your categories, preferably categories your readers
will find helpful, then you can simply cut and paste the code into
your blog and you’re on your way to making money.
In addition to a structured advertising program like AdSense, you
can sell or trade advertising space with relevant businesses and
joint venture partners. Much like you would sell or trade ad space
for your e-zine or even on your website.
Product Promotion.
Of course your blog can be used to promote your own products too.
You can post coupons and incentives, highlight special promotions
and cater your posts to the seasons or holidays to highlight
specific products or services you’re offering. Blogs are a fantastic
way to increase profits for your business. And you can choose one of
the three profit building tools mentioned here or combine them for a
triple whammy.
