I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April of this year. I have had a mastectomy, and am now halfway through chemo therapy. It is a difficult journey.


Some days are good, some days are bad. Some days it's all you can do to take care of yourself. But it is a journey that can be traveled and completed. I would never wish my situation on anyone, but know that if it does happen to you, you CAN do it.

You need the help and support of friends and family, don't try to go through it alone. Let people help you, let them drive you places, let them bring you meals, let them take the kids places so they can have
some fun.

Let yourself rest, let yourself cry, let some things go. This is only a temporary situation and when you are done with treatment, your body will need time to recover, but then you can go back to the way you would normally do things.

Plan ahead, plan for your kids, plan for yourself, plan as though you intend to be around for a looooooong time. And PLEASE, PLEASE, do your monthly self examinations!! If I did not believe that God was firmly in control of my situation, all of this would be much harder. God is my strength and courage.
