Although Nell only started her online business with Mommy's
Place in early 2004, she has been working online for over 4 years. Her
motivation to start the website was to help other moms work from home. Says
Nell, "I
wanted to create a website that was very in depth with
information to help moms work from home and be successful at home."

To promote her site, Nell has been studying hard in the techniques of search
engine optimization, networking on message boards and really getting to know
people in the work at home mom community.
She says she loves working from home because she is able to work when she
wants to. According to Nell, "I can work at 2am if I want to. I like that
being a business owner gives me complete control over my own destiny and I can
be as creative as I want. Plus I can be home with my little baby- that's the absolute best!" |
-> Oh and side note: We think that baby is absolutely adorable! Who
wouldn't want to stay home with that cutie?
Nell was chosen as our Mom Mastermind of the Month not only because of her
hard work and dedication to her business, but to the work at home mom community
in general. When asked what's the number one piece of advice she'd give to a mom
in business, she said:
"Remember why your at home...for your kids. So don't get wrapped up too much with
your business that you lose site of what's important. Make sure you still take
time for your kids. Go for a walk, play a board game, eat lunch with them.
I have a small baby right now, so it's been pretty easy for me
because he sleeps a lot so I can get a lot of work done each day, but when he
grows up and needs me more I will be sure to work my schedule around him :) If
you're really busy or you have a few days of the week where you need to devote
yourself to the business, see if a grandparent or a babysitter can watch the
kids for a little while." Nell has constructed a solid
financial plan for her future and works step-by-step to achieve it. Her ultimate
financial goal is to have her business earning her $60,000 per year. On her way
to that goal, she is keeping her eye out for potential profit sharing ventures
with other business owners; writing an e-book and even getting her husband
involved in the business. A solid financial goal is important, but having her
husband at home is the icing on the cake. ------------------------------------- > Visit Nell online at
