Reba Collins - Internet Based Mom

Reinventing Herself, Her Business & Giving Back to the Community of Moms in Business

Reba Collins is the mother of two daughters, one 17 year old and the other 25. She knows what it's like to miss out on a large chunk of the formative year's of her children's lives.

From her background in management in a large collection agency to starting her own wholesaling business outside of the home in 1991 -- Reba was out of the house a lot as working mother.

After facing some pretty serious market changes in her wholesaling business, she and her husband finally decided to close down their 13,000 square foot warehouse.

This gave Reba the time to refocus and turn her attention to the home front. Although, her oldest daughter was out of the home and her youngest was already a junior in high school, Reba still saw tremendous value in being home for her family and only wished she'd done it sooner.

In order to help other moms achieve the goal of being home with their children, Reba created Working At Home Info 4 Moms, a resource site to help moms balance their home lives and build successful home businesses at the same time. The site provides helpful articles, a forum and a biweekly newsletter filled with tips just for the mom in business.

She is also getting back into business herself and focusing her attention on supplying wholesale gift basket supplies -- mainly to work at home businesses.

Reba's business background includes providing gift basket companies with supplies. She is looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and rebuilding her business.

I asked Reba if she wanted to share any secrets to success she gained from her years in business and she said, "Your mailing list and newsletter is the biggest money maker you could have. When I was running wholesaling business, it was the ONE thing that kept my customers coming back time after time. My list had 17,000 names and I published my newsletter once a month simultaneously with my monthly special. The sales that came from the emailing of that newsletter were instantaneous."
