Growing Your Direct Sales Business Online

If you work in direct sales and have been working through home parties and other local events, you may want to branch out and try online sales. Adding an online market to your business will increase your profits and customer base. Online parties, vendor fairs, and host of the month clubs are a great way to start.

Online parties are a lot like traditional home parties. Instead of meeting at a physical location, you can meet in an online meeting room. Depending on the direct sales company you are partnered with, you may already have access to these meeting rooms. If not, you can search online for them; many companies are offering them.

You will fill out a registration form and reserve a date and time for the party. You will then receive a link to your room, which you can send out to your party guests via email. Depending on the type of meeting room you reserve, you may have access to audio and can actually “talk” to your guests or you may need to chat back and forth by typing. You can explain the benefits and features of your products, provide your guests photos of the products and even play party games.

An online vendor fair is similar to a fair in a physical location. More than likely, there will be a fee to participate. The person holding the fair should be offering some type of promotion, but you should also let your customers know the date, time, and URL of the vendor fair. Instead of a physical booth or table, you will have a meeting room. You can put up pictures of your products and interact with customers through typing messages back and forth

Host of the month clubs can be made up of customers you meet online as well as local customers. People that want to join your club will agree to purchase a minimum order every month for six months. During one of those six months, they will be the “host”. They will receive any gifts your company is offering to hostesses that month, as well as other host benefits such as free items based on party sales. The orders from the other members of the club will count as the host of the month’s “party sales”. In an effort to increase the amount of free or discounted items they receive, the host can also collect orders from friends and family to add to their total sales.

In addition to selling products online, you can also use the internet for marketing and networking. There are many sites targeted to those in the work at home industry. If you are new to marketing online, these sites will provide you with lots of information about building a business online.
