Online direct sales – Why Going Online Can Boost Your Business

For work at home moms, direct sales opportunities used to be limited to a just a few companies.  Advertising consisted of flyers at grocery stores or word of mouth.  Customers and recruits were mainly family and friends.  Sales depended on small home parties.  With a few exceptions, most earned enough to pay for personal products or a night on the town. 

The Internet has opened up a completely new world of possibilities for the online marketer.  There are almost unlimited choices when it comes to which products and which companies to sell for.  Numerous companies offer candles, jewelry, books, cosmetics, wine, essential oils, games, candy, food, toys and an assortment of other products.  With many products offered, a marketer can choose which products they are most interested in and share their enthusiasm with others.

That enthusiasm can translate to a global marketplace with an online business.  Instead of flyers around town, direct sales professionals can advertise to as many as hundreds, sometimes thousands of potential customers.  Online entrepreneurs communicate with and complete transactions with customers and recruits across the nation and even the world.

Online direct sales professionals do not have to give up the social aspect of person-to-person sales.  Many companies encourage their sales people to continue home parties and one-on-one sales presentations.  Social (and sales) activities expand to message boards, emails, and websites.

Product manufacturers offer varying levels of support and commissions to their direct sales people.  Commission usually varies from 20% to 50%.  Most companies require direct sales representatives to purchase a kit at a discounted price and most offer a website either for a small monthly fee or for no charge.

The salesperson can decide how much time they need to devote to sales and recruiting. They can also gauge how large they want to grow their business by choosing which programs best suit their needs.  An online direct sales representative can plan her schedule around her life, instead of her life around her schedule.

A network of online repeat customers and recruits allows the potential for volume sales and residual income generally unmatched by person-to-person sales.  With a larger income, work at home mom’s can save money on daycare and spend more time with their children.  No commute, and fewer trips to daycare, saves not only time, but reduces gasoline costs.

The ability to recruit and train others to market online represents real income potential.  With the capacity to reach a literally global audience, a perceptive marketer can not only expand her own business, but also help others to do the same.  This not only brings a feeling accomplishment but also increases the original salesperson’s bottom line.

Internet marketing offers the ability to reach more potential customers and recruits, save time, and earn a much better income, with very little investment.  This is a great time to expand direct sales to an online business.
