Finding
time to work your direct sales business can be difficult.
There are plenty of things to do each day; from taking kids
to school, running errands, household chores, shuttling kids
to after school activities and making dinner, you have your
hands full. Here are some tips to maximize the time you have
to work and still have time to do everything else you need
to do.
If you do not
have a planner, get one. Start scheduling the times that you
cannot work, and after all of your over obligations have
been met, look at your schedule and define the times that
you can work. To maximize your time to the fullest, try to
schedule at least two nights per week to hold home parties.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are usually good nights; they are in
the middle of the week.
Now that you
know the days of the week that you can hold parties, try to
schedule two parties per night instead of one. Many people
set their party time at around 7:30 in the evening. Instead,
try scheduling parties at 6:30 and 8:00 pm.
At the earlier
party, get things rolling right away. Come in, do your
demonstrations and start the ordering process. The host can
serve the food and visit with guests once you are finished.
If people want to think about their choices before ordering,
make sure your host understands how to help them and make an
appointment to pick up the order forms in a day or so.
As for the
later party, have the host tell everyone to be there about a
half hour before you show up. Have her serve the food and
visit with guests while you are on your way. If possible,
you may want to drop off some catalogs and sample items the
day before, allowing your guests a chance to look over them
before you get there. Once you get there, walk in with a
smile and get to work right away.
By working
this way, you should have two parties completed by a little
after nine o’clock in the evening. You will double your
profits over what you could make if you booked a single
party and stayed there from 7 – 9pm. By letting all of these
party guests know that you book two parties a night because
you are in such high demand will make them want to book a
party, too.
Another option
is to book several parties at once. Ask your hosts ahead of
time to make sure it is okay with them. An average home
party has around 7 guests; call local restaurants and hotels
to find an expensive meeting room that will hold around 30
people. This will enable you to book four parties at once.
