Here are some easy ways you can
help your team make more sales.
Hold personal sales challenges. Who
can resist a challenge? Especially if meeting it will earn
them a prize. You can reward members who reach a certain
amount of sales in a given month with a certain prize.
Alternatively, you can award a prize to the member who has
the highest sales for the given month. Sometimes a
motivational challenge is all it takes for team members to
think more creatively about their selling.
Give them educational materials. Of
course, all the motivation in the world won't help if your
members don't understand how to sell. Provide them with
educational materials that will give them the resources they
need to reach their sales goals. Books, whether in print or
in ebook format, are always popular and affordable. Also,
you can give them away as prizes for reaching a certain
goal.
Offer helpful tips. You probably
have ample tips and bits of advice to share with your team
members. You can relay them to your members by sending out a
weekly or daily tip. Some direct sales leaders write
articles with tips for their team members and publish them
in a newsletter.
Hold regular meetings. If your sales
team members live in your area, you can hold regular
in-person meetings. If you live across the state or county,
try online chats, webinars or teleconferences instead.
Whatever format you choose, meetings can be a valuable way
to motivate and train your members to make more sales. You
can include some of your best tips in your meeting. Invite
other members to share their success tips. This is also a
good opportunity for members to get advice on how to handle
a specific problem that's keeping them from making sales.
Offer incentives for reaching sales
goals. Incentives can come in many forms. They don't need to
be expensive, but they should reflect the goals you have
set. Some goals you offer incentives for might include
making top monthly sales, top quarterly sales, reaching a
set sales goal in one month, or even advancing in company
ranking.
Remember that your members joined
your team because they want to be successful, and they
believed you were the person to help them reach their goals.
By using some of these strategies, you will enable them to
do so. When you give your sales members the information and
motivation they need to make more sales, everyone on your
team will benefit.
