As you may know I took over Internet Based Moms last year. When you own a site like Ibmoms, you get email after email from people who need help...

Some are simply looking for a little guidance others sound downright desperate and are in pretty bad situations.

It was after much feedback and these types of emails that I decided that the information available out there simply isn't enough...

To succeed you need the information but also the tools and guidance to make it all possible. When you're starting out even the simplest of ideas can seem really difficult to execute (I remember exactly what it feels like to not "get it").

The average person starting online cannot take information from an ebook or course and apply it properly.

Many get paralyzed before they even take action because what they learn is almost foreign to them.

You need examples, exact steps... then you need to take action and be told that it's not going to come easy.

There really is no "get-rich" quick, you need to work for your success.

And of course, no information product, no matter how good it is, can help you if you don't take action.

But how do you take action when you feel so lost?

The bottom line is very few people can actually take the information they learn and put it into a systemized plan and then take action on that plan.

Now here's the thing, internet marketing and business in general really isn't rocket science. We get confused because most of us have been led to believe that there is some big "mystery" or "secret" to making money in this industry...

And when you buy product after product and get conflicting information all the time, it's nearly downright impossible to stay focused and keep building - how can you do that when you're always wondering if you're actually doing it right?

So you keep looking for that "magic pill" that's going to make everything okay.. the big "secret".

Eventually you'll realize that there is NO secret.

Regardless of what you may have heard or what the flavor of the month guru tells you... there really is no secret.

So stop looking for it, because I promise you it doesn't exist.

The "secret" if you would call it that is simply having a strong, solid business plan (and I don't mean a formal one with all those ridiculous little graphs and charts) - I mean, a plan that involves providing value to a group of people that will then become your customers for a long term.

You also need the determination to succeed and to take action on what you learn, plus the perseverance to chip away until you succeed.

Do you want to know why I'm successful? You may be surprised that I am because here's the thing...

I'm not super smart. In fact, I did very poorly in school and have never stood out as being overly smart... so I slid by in school and actually hated it.

The only thing I really enjoyed has hanging out with my friends and waiting for the whole ordeal to be over!

I'm not a great schmoozer. I'm actually not a big networker or social butterfly which is why the internet suits me.

I'm not super savvy or cut throat. I was watching The Apprentice last night and was amazed about how cut-throat some of those people are. In business it's often like that.

The corporate world is worse, which is why I couldn't stomach it. I don't have it in me to think along those lines, and I've walked right into more "didn't you see it coming" situations than I'd like to recall!

Now would you like to know what I do have going for me?

I'm a chipper. I chip, chip, chip away at things until I get the outcome I want.

I'm stubborn. I don't give up and if I really, really want something I find a way to get it... where there's a will there's a way.

I don't have preset limits. I have never, ever set limits for myself. I honestly believe I can do just about anything I want if I put the effort into it.

I believe anyone can, yes YOU too.

Of course, there are things that are outside of our physical limitations so don't think of it as black and white... I mean anyone can do just about anything they want - within reason.

If you limit yourself and think things like "I can never do something like that" or "that's for other people, not me" - ask yourself why you're imposing such limits on yourself.

There is a huge difference between fact and opinion.

When my father said to me one day building a business is very hard work and only a few people actually make it, it's unlikely that you'll be one of the few - stick with school.

I thought there is some truth to that statement.

Statistically only a small percentage of new small businesses make it.

But the second part of that statement "it's unlikely you'll be one of the few" is not a fact, it's merely an opinion.

There is a huge difference between the two...

I urge you to look at the difference in everything you do in life.

But back to why I've come full circle...

I also mentioned last week that I wanted to introduce you to my biggest mentor in business. That's Dr. Ken Evoy, founder and owner of Site Sell/SiteBuildIt!.
