Creating an Aromatherapy Gift Basket

When people think of aromatherapy, they think of candles, but aromatherapy involves smells of various origins that are designed to relax, soothe, and heal. Someone into aromatherapy is a great friend because they not only know how to make themselves feel better but can help you out as well. Create an aromatherapy basket for that special person on their birthday, wedding anniversary, or any other occasion where a special gift is appropriate.

For an aromatherapy enthusiast, the basket can actually be one that has compartments. It could have a cover to hold everything in or be like a display case. In each compartment, different items used in their specialty would find a home.

Before fleshing out your idea, take a look around their home or area where they use most of their aromatherapy products. This person may make a living with aromatherapy like a massage therapist or they may dabble in it as a hobby. Whatever the reason, fill the basket with things that will enhance what they do.

Decorate the basket with something that will set the mood when they are performing their aromatherapy arts. It could be silk flowers that they can bring together in a vase later. There doesn’t necessarily need to be much decoration. The items inside will impress them enough.

So, where to start? Let’s dispense with the candles. Someone into aromatherapy probably has more than enough candles already. Visit a shop that sells oils, perfumes, incense, diffusers, and other items that create and permeate smells throughout a room.

Many scented oils also contain other healing ingredients to soothe tired muscles and improve the body. Diffusers heat the oil and keep the scent hanging in the air longer than candles. Aromatherapists also create their own scents with various dried herbs and powders. Include a mortar and pestle (the little ceramic bowl and dowel often seen on pharmacy signs in the old days) so they can do just that.

Let a store employee who knows something about aromatherapy products help you decide what to buy. The idea of the gift is to be useful and functional. Loading a basket with things you think might help could actually not be helpful after all.

After the basket is presented, they may invite you to sample some of the products. An aromatherapy basket is fun for the recipient and their friends as well.
