Start an Baby Shoe Bronzing Business

Everybody loves to preserve the memories of their little ones. You can do baby shoe bronzing from home and find clients online.

You can work with other baby-related websites to drive customers to your website.

Baby Shoe Bronzing business

What you will be doing. Many people want to preserve the memories of their children’s younger days.

Shoe bronzing is a way to keep their memories in pristine condition. As a bronzer, you will provide services to people that want to bronze baby shoes.

Baby shoe bronzing is a business that can be run out of your home. A workshop where the actual bronzing takes place should be in the garage or other area with good ventilation. A tarp or concrete flooring will keep carpet from being ruined during the process.

Bronzing can be done in an assembly line fashion as long as the shoes are labeled. You will be dealing with the precious keepsakes of others so care is warranted. Different stations can be setup and worked on certain days.

Once you get a good client base with the bronzing of baby shoes, the business can expand. Other keepsakes can be bronzed besides baby shoes. Check the Internet for a list of items that take to the bronzing process.

How to start. Materials for the bronzing process can be obtained from a paint and/or craft store. You should consider wearing a painter’s jumpsuit or a smock to avoid ruining your own clothes. Containers will be used to hold the bronzing solution. A makeshift clothesline or other hanging apparatus holds the shoes while they dry.

Bronzing powder mixes with spar varnish to create the bronzing solution. The bronzer can be applied to the shoes with a paint brush. Camel hair brushes are good to use. Between shoes, completely clean the brushes. A fresh batch should be used for each pair of shoes.

The shoes should be free of dirt and any stains. Some baby shoes have a shiny coating on them. To remove this coating and prepare the shoe material, wipe the shoe surface with denatured alcohol. Allow the shoes to dry completely. A hole in the sole of the shoe lets you hang them up to dry.

Start up costs. The price of the bronzing materials and tables to work may cost around $300. Depending on mode of advertising, this may only add another hundred dollars.

Hunt down free advertising if you can. Online forums may let you advertise your business for free if you are a member.

Flyers throughout the neighborhood and at day care centers are a good place to start. Parents, specifically mothers are your target audience.

If they want to preserve their child’s keepsakes, they will be looking for someone like you.

Skills needed. For this business, you will need to possess good people skills. You will be talking to clients face to face or over the Internet. Answering all of their questions to their satisfaction will inspire confidence.

Attention to detail is important. Customers want their shoes treated like the only shoes you have to bronze. Meeting the needs of the public is part of good business.

Marketing. Begin a website for your shoe bronzing business complete with a forum. Feature pictures of shoes that you have bronzed so that potential customers can see your handiwork. Offer discounts to customers that bring you more customers.

To expand your business, bronze some other items and feature them on your website. Ask in the forum what kinds of objects people would get bronzed for a good price. Add these to your items to bronze.

Shoe bronzing is a business that can be started with very little cash and turn a profit. Because there are other items that can be bronzed, expanding your business in any direction you want is an option.
