Baking Gift Baskets for the Baker
We
all know someone who likes to bake. It’s that rare person who loves
to make cakes, pies, and muffins for any and all occasions. They
were born with a “powdered” thumb you might say. When it’s this
person’s turn to receive something special, think about that baking
prowess they have and play to that.
The best thing about gift baskets is that they can be adapted to any
occasion and any person. For the baker, there are a wealth of
possibilities for decorating and filling this basket. Let’s begin
with decorating. I love to decorate and it just makes the basket
that much more special because you took the time to do it.
Now, decorating can come in the form of ribbons, bows, and stickers
that cover the plastic wrapping on the basket or it can be the
basket. For a baker, the basket can be a baking pan or a Bundt pan.
It could be a stand mixer of the best quality filled with odds and
ends that will make them smile.
Think of the person who is receiving the basket and what they might
need. After all, the purpose of a gift is to give the recipient
something that they want. For a baker that could be new oven mitts,
new baking pans, gourmet products, cookbooks, or an apron.
If they don’t seem to need any of the basic things, fill their
basket with something that they would long to have. A stand mixer
may fall in this category. It could be out of your budget too, so go
in with some friends and buy it together.
Some bakers love baking but wish the preparation didn’t take so
long. That problem can be solved with gift mixes for the gift
basket. Gift mixes are recipes where the dry ingredients are
combined in Mason jars.
A decorative label on the outside describes the product and gives
the additional ingredients that need to be added to make the sweet
gift. Most people do this for cookies, brownies, and bars.
Everything has been premeasured which makes it easier for them.
These can be placed in a handled wicker basket with other odds and
ends of the trade that he or she would be happy to receive.
Satisfy the baker in your circle with a gift basket for their
birthday or just because. They’ll be tickled that you knew them well
enough to add the sweet touch!
