Skills needed.  A business coach doesn’t require a degree, but a background in business is essential.  There is no substitute for experience.  A business coach has several years of industry experience under their belt.  They are familiar with the ins and outs of a particular industry.  Business coaches know how to turn their experiences into useful guidelines for others to follow.

They can pick apart each area of a business and suggest ways to increase productivity.  Their years in the industry aid in creating business plans that have a precise starting point with many options for expansion.   ;

Marketing.  Start with known contacts.  Talk with them and discuss your new business venture.  Carry business cards with you to press into any and every hand that may need your services.  Online, a website will greatly benefit the business coach.  

Buy advertising space on home business websites and mom centered websites.  Stay at home moms and retirees can benefit from your experience.  With coaching services, they can be offered anywhere in the world as long as you have a working knowledge of the industry.
