Book Themed Gift Baskets

The written word can bring a smile to our face or a chill to our spine.  Since the first book ever printed, people have been transported to faraway places in those pages.  For the person who loves books, a gift basket full of them is a treat.

There are all types of books.  Magazines fall into this category as well.  A basket can get pretty heavy under the weight so don’t try to put every book in there.

A regular gift basket won’t hold too many books.  The handle may break.  Using a basket without a handle or a heavier basket of rectangular or square shape the weight of the books won’t ruin it.

If someone likes a particular author, try to find the majority of their works.  Mix it up between hardcover and paperback unless they have a preference.  Or, you can expand their tastes with books from authors of similar style in the same genre.

Some people don’t have time to read books no matter how much they love them.  They can still enjoy their favorite books in small doses with books on tape.  Most of the popular novels have an audio version.  They can listen in their cars on the way to work or on long road trips.

For the more technologically advanced, there is an electronic book reader.  Books can be uploaded and viewed on the reader.  Instead of a shelf full of books that have been read once and probably not again, everything is contained on the reader which takes up far less space.

Besides the books, book lovers can use other things.  Reading a scary volume by Stephen King or Dean Koontz is better in the dark but some light is required in the room.  Add a book reading night light, a magnifying glass (for tired older eyes), and bookmarks.  If they like to read in bed, a lap book reading stand will prevent stiff necks.

Books are wonderful things.  They can be funny, sad, dramatic, and scary.  Sometimes that happens all in the same book.  Give a few in a gift basket to someone who loves them.
