Creating a Bowler's Gift Basket

Many people may not think so but bowling is a bona fide sport. It takes a lot of skill to send a ten pound ball careening down a polished alley and hit dead center to topple ten wooden pins. They deserve a gift basket that requires just as much skill as their sport.

Bowlers are unique people. I know a bowler. They are meticulous about their equipment. Any variation from their technique could affect their game. Like golf, there are a finite number of opportunities to make the best showing possible. In bowling, there are ten frames in which each bowler tries to score a perfect game of 300. This is equivalent to knocking down all ten pins in every frame.

There are a number of ways to approach a gift basket for such a person. Remember that bowlers are men and women. And, the women are just as serious about their game as the men.

Bowlers carry all of their gear in a bowling bag. These bowling bags have a hard bottom to support the weight of the bowling ball. Use this as your gift basket. They’ll think you bought them a bowling bag.

Buying a bowling ball is a matter of personal preference. It would be hard to give one as a gift because everyone’s weight tolerance and finger size is different. Once those finger holes are cut into the ball, there’s no going back. Include a gift certificate to a reputable bowling shop so they can choose their own ball.

Bowlers use other things in addition to the ball. For instance, they need shoes. At the bowling alley, those shoes look hideous. They are two or more colors and hard—not exactly something you’d wear anywhere else. But, stylish shoes do exist.

Bowlers sometimes wear gloves to prevent their hands from sweating. They need a good grip and release on the ball to get it to go where they want it down the alley. Also, a soft rag is used to polish the ball between frames and before storage.

All of these items can fill the bowling bag to the brim. But, the bowling bag is not the only option. You can use a more traditional gift basket.

Let the bowler in your life know how much you appreciate them and value their pastime. Bowling gift baskets can be used whenever the occasion calls for a personal gift.
