Creating a Champagne Celebration Gift Basket
Why do people break out the bubbly? It could be a celebration, a
romantic rendezvous, or a “just because” moment. In any event,
champagne makes a great gift basket idea for these sorts of
occasions.
First, the basket needs to be sturdy enough to handle several
bottles of alcohol. The last thing we want is a basket that peels
away under the weight and leaves several bottles of good champagne
in a broken pile on the floor. Choose something made of tightly
woven wicker material.
Does this person have a favorite kind of champagne? If they do,
include a bottle or two in the basket. That’s not all. Give them a
few new varieties to try. It is a special occasion so they may want
to share the new bottles with others attending the celebration and
hide the favorites to be enjoyed later.
Decorating the basket requires that we only think of the things that
go well with champagne. Any art gallery will have paintings that
display at least one feast where everyone drinks and eats to their
hearts content. What are they eating? Probably, they are enjoying
some sort of fruit like a bunch of grapes.
Fruits like grapes and strawberries go well with champagne.
Strawberries bring out the finer flavor of the champagne. Any home
décor store will have plastic fruit you can purchase to hang around
the basket.
If this is a romantic occasion, instead of tissue paper in the
bottom of the basket, cover it with a folded blanket or small throw.
Once the contents of the basket are removed, both of you can sit
comfortably on the blanket and share a glass.
In addition to the champagne, include some food items. Eating food,
while sampling champagne, keeps it from going straight to your head.
How about some cheese, strawberries, and, of course, grapes? To keep
the process of eating simple, include a wooden cheese cutting board
and a cheese knife.
Be careful when adding food to any basket. Let it be the last thing
to go in the basket and wrap it to prevent spoiling until the basket
can be opened. Unless they will be eaten right away, perishables can
be stored in the fridge. Providing a decorative bowl or container to
hold the fruit is a nice touch.
Champagne is a drink of celebration. Make a great showing with a
gift basket that showcases your bubbly.
