Cheese Gift Basket

My favorite sandwich when I was little was grilled cheese. All that cheese oozing out from the sides of that golden brown toasted bread. It was great with tomato soup and irresistible alone. Do you know a cheese connoisseur? Fix them a gift basket.

Cheese, glorious cheese! There are many varieties of cheese to choose from. Some people fancy soft cheeses like Brie, stinky cheeses like Limburger, blue cheese like Roquefort, or piquant cheeses like sharp cheddar. Whatever they like, give it to them all wrapped up with a bow.

Cheese is actually made from curdled milk so it shouldn’t go bad if you purchase it in its original form like a cheese wheel. Besides the cheese itself, cheese balls can be added to the cheese basket. Cheese spreads are also good. They come in many flavors like garlic and herb.

Your cheese gift basket can be a traditional basket or, for something different, choose a picnic basket. The cheese person may want to share their cheese over romantic candle light. Choose the picnic basket that comes complete with flatware, plates, and napkins.

Now that they have the cheese they will need something to cut it with. A cheese slicer or a mini cutting board and cheese knife gives them some useful tools to eat their cheese. Usually in gift baskets you see cheese paired with summer sausage. You can add that if you would like. For gift baskets that you purchase there will be at least one that has summer sausage included with the cheese.

I like crackers with my cheese. There are soda crackers, saltines, Ritz crackers, buttery crackers, wheat cracker, and others to spread your cheese on. Cheese and crackers make a good snack.

Don’t forget cheese books. A book on fine cheeses is good reading material for the person who is really into cheese. A cookbook will show them how to turn those gourmet cheeses into savory sauces and fillings for meals.

Cheese is good for us and there are many to choose from. The next time you are trying to think of a gift to give the person in your life that happens to love cheese, consider a gift basket with a cheese theme.
