Fruit Themed Gift Baskets

Fruit is good for the body. It makes a great snack and addition to desserts. Someone that you know loves to eat all kinds of fruit. Surprise them with a fruit gift basket designed especially for them.

There will be some challenges with this type of gift basket. Anytime that you create a food basket with items that can spoil, there are limits. For one, the basket will need to be assembled as close to the time you will surprise the receiver with it. Fruits can go bad quickly and you want the person receiving the basket to enjoy each and every piece of their delicious gift.

Give the gift of convenience. Subscribe to a fruit of the month club on behalf of the fruit lover. This means that the fruit will arrive via the mail system separately from your gift basket. But, there are other things to fill a fruit gift basket besides the fruit.

The fruit can’t stay in the basket, unless it is not a basket at all. Get creative and use a hanging basket or fruit bowl as the base for this gift. Fill it with fruit necessities like a manual citrus juicer, a citrus knife, a zester, and other fruit friendly utensils. Oh, don’t forget the card that states that they are now a member of the fruit of the month club.

Each fruit has a specific season. If the fruit gift basket is given when strawberries are out of season, choose other fruits to include. Some fruits like bananas and oranges are available all year round. These can be the main staples in a fruit basket. With bananas, choose fruit that is not exactly ripe so they will keep longer.

Decorate the basket with plastic fruit. They can double as a centerpiece for the table or a display for the kitchen counter.  

Fruits don’t have to be in natural form to make it into the basket. Fruit preserves, jams, and marmalades are made of fruit and go well with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
