Creating a Mexican Cuisine Gift Basket
Many people are discovering Mexican cuisine. It is the food of a
culture that embraces the joy of eating. The recipes are full of
flavor and spice. A Mexican gift basket will suit the person who has
a taste for this type of cuisine.
Mexican foods are full of vegetables and carbohydrates. The meals
make use of avocados, tomatoes, peppers, and onions. The main staple
is corn and this is used in ground form to create tortillas.
Basically, this is used as a bread to hold meats, vegetables, and
cheeses.
Since you may not be adept at grinding your own corn into meal,
purchase some corn tortillas from the store. These tortillas can be
cooked in a mold to create taco shells and bowls. Flour tortillas
are also used to make quesadillas and burritos.
Traditional taco sauce and seasonings are probably homemade, but for
the Mexican gift basket, try to find the most authentic sauces and
seasonings you can find in liquid and powder form. This will lend
itself to a more authentic taste to the food.
Mexican cuisine doesn’t use much red meat but they utilize beans.
Include a few bags of dried beans and cans of refried beans for
burritos. Mexican rice dishes accompany chicken if it is the main
course. Use Mason jars to put together rice and beans and seasonings
in proper proportions. This way, all they will need to do is add
water or broth to fix the rice. Add a recipe label on the jars so
they know how to cook it.
Guacamole is a dip made with avocados. Add a few ripe avocados and a
bag of chips to the basket so they can make their own guacamole dip.
A bottle of salsa will top the tacos, burritos, and chips as well.
It all sounds so good.
Include some utensils for preparing Mexican dishes. A mold will let
them make their own taco shells and taco bowls at home. A bag of
genuine Mexican corn flour will see them rolling dough in the
kitchen. A Mexican gift basket will afford them the chance to
experiment with new tastes and techniques.
Do you have a taste for a burrito or a taco salad? Someone you know
does. Fix them a Mexican gift basket.
