Creating a New Mom Gift Basket

So someone is having a baby. This will be an exciting and fearful time. Babies don’t come with instruction booklets so parents are charged with making the choices that will turn these little ones into the men and women they are destined to become. Reward that brave mom with a gift basket especially made for her.

From the first day that the doctor reveals that a new life is growing inside of her, a woman becomes a new mom. This can be the theme of your new mom gift basket. Make her life easier before the baby arrives.

Pregnancy, while joyous, is quite stressful and hard on a woman’s body. She feels tired, sick, bloated, and prone to mood swings. I won’t even mention the stretch marks! Give that new mom all of the support she needs with a few special items in the gift basket.

After a certain point, women must sleep on their side to be comfortable. Include a sleeping pillow for her belly. When she sits up, comfortable cushions for the chair to support her back and neck reduce the strain.

As she sits, she may want to record some of her thoughts for later recollection. Include a baby journal or a tape recorder. She can choose to record her feelings on paper or audio to share with the new baby later.

After baby is born, new mom will still need support as well as a good night’s sleep. For a while, when baby sleeps she will sleep too. Help her snooze in comfort with a new terry cloth robe and some fuzzy slippers. An eye mask block out the light when she slumbers during the daytime hours.

Mom will travel with baby when she feels up to it. Include a baby carrier in the basket. Baby slings are quite fashionable these days. They support the baby from head to toe. Most slings support the head and torso but baby’s legs swing free.
