Relaxation Gift Basket

A few years ago, there was a commercial about a bath soap that could “take us away” from our daily stress. A relaxation basket could also do the trick for someone special who needs a break. Here are some ideas for items to include in a relaxation basket.

Relaxing is a little different than a spa basket. They can contain some of the same things, but relaxation involves a person doing what they most like to do. When we are so busy with work and family responsibilities, our hobbies get pushed to the back burner.

The things that help us take our mind off of the daily grind and its stresses involve enjoyment. Remember that when choosing what to put in this basket. Beginning with the basics is okay because everyone likes the typical relaxation touches.

Candles provide light and a pleasant scent. Avoid the fancy looking candles since the wax will just melt the shape into a blob over time. For relaxing, consider lavender, citrus, chamomile, and vanilla.

Candles around the bath create a soothing atmosphere in which to relax. While the muscles get loose, watching the candle flame relaxes the mind. For an afternoon relaxing moment, add a candle warmer. The smells will still waft through the air without ruining the shape of the candle or creating a fire hazard if you fall asleep.

Since you know your friends better than anyone else, you are uniquely qualified to choose what will relax them. It could be a trowel, some potting soil and a few flower seeds. They can begin a new garden in their spare time.

For men, relaxation may mean a day in front of the television or in a hammock doing absolutely nothing. For the man who wants to pass the hours snoozing, include a large hat to block out the sun, a neck pillow, some snacks, and a few bottles of their favorite drink. Comfy slippers will get some use on those Saturdays when there’s no yard work.

The key to a successful relaxation basket is finding out what the recipient finds relaxing. It is not the same for everyone.
