St. Patrick’s Day Gift Basket

It’s the luck of the Irish! In March, bring on those shamrocks, leprechauns, and pots of gold. It’s green all the way on March 17th. Furnish that Irishman or woman with a Saint Patty’s Day gift basket to show you care.

For many people, St. Patrick’s Day is a prized holiday. In New York, they dye the water in the harbor green. They also have a parade to commemorate the occasion. It will be standing room only in every Irish pub in the country.

For St. Patrick’s Day, bring the luck of the Irish to someone special in your life. Of course, we will begin with a green basket. Hey, on St. Patty’s Day, everything is green! Decorate that basket with hand drawn four-leaf clovers. It’s hard to find a four-leaf clover on your own, so add a few to the basket.

Other than green, gold is the next best color on St. Patrick’s Day. Everyone searches for that famous pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. If you catch a leprechaun, they are supposed to take you to it. We’ve all searched but come up empty. In the gift basket, they don’t have to. Add a bag of gold-wrapped chocolate coins in a plastic black kettle.

St. Patrick created the modern Celtic cross with the sun, a notable symbol in Ireland, across the center of the cross. Every St. Patrick’s Day fan needs to have a Celtic cross. The cross can be in the form of a lapel pin or a necklace. Smaller crosses work best for the guys.

People love to frequent the pub on St. Patrick’s Day. Give someone the opportunity to hold a celebration in their home by providing a few bottles of Irish brew. They can drink them alone or share with a few friends.

What about dinner? Corned beef and cabbage come to mind. You won’t be sticking that in the basket, but maybe a recipe card for a scrumptious corned beef and cabbage dinner. What you can include is the coffee glasses for some good old Irish coffee after dinner.
