Wine Lovers Themed Gift Baskets

According to doctors, drinking a glass of red wine each day is good for our cholesterol levels and our hearts.  That’s good news for wine lovers. Here are some ideas for gift baskets with these wonderful people in mind.

Well, the first and main part of the basket is the wine that you include.  Does the special person like red or white?  Do they prefer dry or sweet?  If you know their preferences, choosing the wine for the gift basket will be an easy task.

What about the basket? If wine is the only addition, a European type of wicker wine basket with space for two bottles is quaint, to the point, and simple.  When it’s just wine that you are giving, a gift basket built for wine is a sweet sentiment.

Wine is so much better when enjoyed with some type of food.  Traditionally wine lovers would eat fruit like grapes, cheese, and crackers. You can add these items to a larger basket to complement the wine. 

When using fresh food in a basket, keep it refrigerated as much as possible before putting it in the basket.  Since the wine will be used later, it’s okay to buy wrapped summer sausage, a block of cheese, and whole fruits with longer shelf life like apples and oranges.

Wine is supposed to be the nectar of the gods.  You can show that with the decorations you use on the basket.  String a few fake vines of grapes around the handle.

They’ll need a cutting block and cheese knife to enjoy the offerings placed in the basket.  We can assume wine lovers would have all of these things including a corkscrew but when they come in a basket they make such cute additions.  Who can resist getting new one?  You can never have too many corkscrews.

Wine lovers will also have wine glasses.  It’s not bad having plenty of those either.  Choose at least two glasses to add to the basket.  Wine glasses come in many colors and designs.  Find a unique one.
