Improving Your Target Market - What If You Fear You've Chosen the Wrong
Target Market? (Part 2)
Now that you know how to do some basic market
research for your online business, you may be worried that you've
chosen the wrong target market. You've slaved for so long and nobody
seems interested in your products or your website.
Don't worry, it happens to all of us. It could
be a matter of not promoting your business as well as you can. If
you need some promotion ideas, please pick up your copy of the
Internet Based
Moms Oath to ensure you've exhausted your promotion
possibilities.
If you determine it's not a matter of
marketing, but rather a poor choice in target market, here's a few
things you can do to remedy the problem:
1. Scrap the project and start fresh:
That may sound frightening, but if you've invested time and money
without any return, why would you continue to be a glutton for
punishment? Now that you know how to do market research, you can
find a better option for yourself to get started all over. Remember,
starting a business online doesn't have to be expensive, so starting
over again doesn't have to break the bank.
2. Target your market better: I've seen
many people make the mistake of trying to be all things to all
people. Perhaps you just need a tighter focus on your market in
order to sell to them better.
3. Change the Focus of Your Site: You
may find your website generates a lot of traffic, but people just
aren't buying your products or the products you offer through
affiliate links. You don't necessarily have to get rid of the site,
but you can try to change the way you make money. You can try
pay-per-click programs like
Google Adsense on
Chitika Mini-Malls.
Whatever you do, don't be afraid to make
changes and see where it takes you. If you've been working your
heart out on something that just isn't working, there's no reason to
keep beating your head against your virtual business walls.
