U.S. National News - A group of work at home moms have combined resources to hold a unique "Christmas Shopping Bash" to showcase their home business products.

A group of thirty work at home moms from across the United States have banded together to increase their online holiday sales. "The Christmas Shopping Bash" is an online event that showcases the products for sale by these entrepreneurial mothers.

The Bash will take place on November 14, 2003 at, an online community for work at home moms. The event begins at 9AM PST and runs all day.

The event is much like a direct sales home party where guests can come and receive information about the products, socialize with other guests, play a few "party games" and even win prizes. However, this party has one major difference…it takes place in an online chat room. Plus, guests have a chance to win over $400 in prizes.

Jodi Plume, Tricia McWilliams and Billie McWilliams are the work at home mom organizers of the shopping event, "We help create the party bashes because online parties are a blast and we love helping people," they say.

Direct sales and home parties are a booming business. According to the Direct Sales Association, home parties accounted for 8.3 billion dollars in sales in the United States. This group of entrepreneurial women have decided to take advantage of the unique opportunity offered by direct sales companies to start a low startup cost business. Now these moms are working together to generate even more party sales in this unique cooperative effort.

U.S., Canada & Worldwide – Online work at home mom community is helping bring awareness to breast cancer and its part to raise funds for breast cancer in a unique online effort..
Many work at home moms are temporarily putting business on hold to participate in a cyber event designed to bring awareness of breast cancer to work at home moms all across the United States, Canada and the globe.
This month-long event is taking place on, a community of work at home moms who network and share resources to build their online businesses. In October 2003, the community is banding together to bring awareness of breast cancer and raise funds for breast cancer charities.
The event includes breast cancer information, resources and stories of inspirational moms who have battled breast cancer. Fundraisers include an online chat-a-thon and 70% of selected sales going to breast cancer charities.
Despite the growing awareness of breast cancer, there are still women who do not take advantage of early detection of breast cancer at all and others who do not get screening mammograms and clinical breast exams at regular intervals.
According to the U.S. organization, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), “If all women age 40 and older took advantage of early detection methods – mammography plus clinical breast exam – breast cancer death rates would drop much further, up to 30 percent. The key to mammography screening is that it be done routinely – once is not enough.”
Says owner of, Alice Seba, “We are a tight knit community of moms in business coming from a variety backgrounds. A feeling of isolation is common in the world of a stay at home mom and has always been a place where moms can gather to share business resources. Now we can also come together to bring awareness to health issues like breast cancer and raise funds to help all women.” can be found on the world wide web at Full Breast Cancer Awareness Event details are located at
