You are Here: Free Internet Marketing Newsletter > Back Issues > Organize and Systemize - March 20, 2006

Hello,

The last couple of weeks have certainly been busy "get organized" weeks. After recently taking an amazing and eye-opening e-coaching course with Jimmy D. Brown - of List And Traffic Fame I have really become focused on systematizing my business and making sure that anyone could step in and work on any aspect of
my business.

(Jimmy's at http://www.internetbasedmoms.com/listandtraffic.html if you're interested in learning more)

But why would I want to let other people step in and take over my business?

As a mother, you know how life can take you away from your business at any moment. What if you're kids are ill...or what if something happens to you and you can't work for at all for a while. What would happen to your business? You need to have things set up so that people you trust can step in and run things while you're away.

It's also unrealistic for you to try to perform every task in your business. If you do, you're bound to burn out and you won't reach your maximum profitability. If you are so busy answering emails and performing administrative tasks, you can't focus on the most important aspect of your business and that important task is MARKETING and promoting your website.

As part of the plan to systematize my business, we finally set up a support ticket system (and I couldn't have done it with my trusty programmer and helpers - Thanks Lynette, Linda, Nell, Tara, Heather & Ellie!). With multiple websites, multiple products and so many people asking for help - it was a long time coming. I just wish I'd done it earlier...a lot earlier.

The ticket system means anyone authorized can go in and answer questions. We are also working on creating an extensive FAQ which will help answer most support questions and we'll be able to build on that FAQ with the record the ticket system will create.

You can view what we've set up at:
http://www.InternetBasedSupport.com

...and if you ever need a hand yourself, that's where you should go for help.

You might be thinking that you wouldn't need such a system if you don't receive large volumes of email or don't have multiple people helping you out with your business.

It's just not so.

With a ticket system, you have a record of all the questions you received and responses, so that you can easily formulate an FAQ to save time for yourself and your customers. You probably also know that it's not always easy to communicate with customers via email. With so many filters going on, email frequently gets lost. A ticket system helps you stay in touch with your customers because they can log into your website anytime to see the responses to their requests.

If you're interested in creating such a system, you may wonder how you can possibly set it up. I wouldn't have known what to do without my trusty programmer, Lynette Chandler and I asked her to put some information together for you on support ticket systems. You can claim yours at:

http://www.internetbasedmoms.com/ticketsystem.html

I hope you'll find the information helpful and here's to your organized and highly efficient online business! :-)

Take care,

Alice Seba

WAHM Talk Radio Notes from Kelly

This week we meet two more of our awesome WAHM MVP Nominees. Jill Hart, owner of Christian Work at Home Mom and Melissa Khalinsky, owner of Business Mums. While I spoke with them this week I could easily see why so many Moms (and Mums!) think so highly of them. They are incredible women with a big heart for other mothers who want to say at home with their children.

Visit the MVP Page to learn more about all of our nominees and place your vote! We have just under two weeks left.
