Hello again,
We hope you had a wonderful weekend and a great start to the week. Last week we
started our series on direct sales. There are a lot of moms who want and need
the flexibility of a business which fits around their family but still makes
them money. Direct sales can be a great option, whether you want to make a
little extra spending money or build a full-time business.
If you really want to make the most of your direct sales business, you should
consider building your own website to promote your products. Why? Because your
website can act as a 24-hour store front and can be a place where people can
come to you and see what you have to offer. You can reduce the amount of time
spent hosting parties and knocking on doors. And even if you still do those
things, you can quite easily build an extra income stream by just having a
website.
This week we’re going to give you a few tips for building and maximizing your
direct sales website. First, we have to note that some direct sales companies
don’t actually allow you to have your own website representing their company,
and others request you place a disclaimer on your site stating you’re an
independent distributor. Please check your company’s policy before building a
website.
Now lets get started…
Website Basics - Your website should also be easy to navigate, be pleasing to
the eye – avoid flashing imagines and pictured background, and give a little
information about you. If you have a passion for the product you’re representing
that passion will show through the words on your website. Make sure your writing
and style reflect your positive feelings about the company you’re promoting.
Give Information – When you build your website, don’t just place pictures of
your products with a “buy now” button. Give people information relevant to your
products.
For example, if you sell soy candles explain the benefits of using soy candles
versus regular candles. Give tips on how candle light can change the mood in a
room or how candles can help you relax. In other words, provide quality
information. This will help your website rank well with the search engines and
bring you free traffic. People are also more likely to purchase your products if
you provide a link after they read an informative article, rather than just
placing a “buy now” link on the main page of your site.
Recruiting Tips – A lot of top direct sales people place big emphasis on
recruiting a team. Include a page on your website, which states the benefits of
joining your direct sales opportunity. Provide articles, tips and information to
help people learn more about your business. A website can be a great tool for
building a direct sales team.
Having your own direct sales website can be a real boost for your business.
These tips will help you get started and we’ve also put together two new
articles to help you build a profitable direct sales website and maximize your
online success. You can find them here:

Inspiranza Designs began with an idea that there was something missing, a hole
in the market. That missing element was sterling silver and genuine gemstone
jewelry versus the costume jewelry that was presently being offered through home
parties. After years of letting that idea develop and grow, Diane Lawrence and
Dawn Fischer made their dream a reality by launching Inspiranza Designs in 2005.

Week in Review
CafePress moved its affiliate program to Commission Junction. All new affiliates
will sign on through CJ and the current in-house affiliate program will be
completely discontinued on May 31st. The move results in a lower commission rate
for affiliates and is expected to result in better exposure for Marketplace
sellers.
