Hi there,
We hope you had a great weekend and were able to spend some quality time with
your family.
Last week we spoke a little about finding balance as a work-at- home mom… it’s
not always easy but definitely achievable.
This week we want to talk a little about staying organized. Being organized is a
very important part of finding balance. By putting a few steps into place and
organizing your business and home life, you’ll have more quality time to spend
with your family and even be able to steal a little very important alone time
for you.
Here are our top 3 business organization tips:
Set a schedule for work and try to stick to it. If you need to set the alarm on
your phone or clock and when it goes off you know it’s time to do something
else.
Organize your work space. “A cluttered desk is a cluttered mind” and by
keeping all your paperwork and work area organized you’ll be able to focus on
those ever important money-making tasks and spend less time trying to find
things.
Set aside one day a month for bookkeeping and planning ahead. It’s worth it to
take a few hours at the beginning of each month to stay on top of your
bookkeeping but also make a clear plan for the month ahead. Make one big overall
list of the things you’d like to accomplish in that month then make
another list with smaller steps to help you achieve those goals.
Those are three easy tips for staying on top of business and since business for
us also means being at home; here are our 3 top tips to help with our
home organization:
Plan your meals. It is so much easier if you plan your meals and make sure you
have plenty of food to prepare those meals. This will save having to
rush out to the supermarket to find something last minute for dinner or ordering
out, which can be costly and maybe not the healthiest option.
Set some time aside for the kids. Happy kids will argue less with each other and
let you get more work done overall. If you find yourself being pulled
away from the computer to break up arguments then it’s time to shut it off and
spend some quality uninterrupted time with your kids. By setting aside
a little time each day to interact and play with your children, they will better
understand when you tell them it’s now your time to go work for a
little and they need to entertain themselves for that time.
Delegate! Why do it all when you can get help? Even young kids can help put
laundry away, load the dishwasher and tidy up their toys. Set a clear
schedule of chores for all family members and where possible get outside help
with other tasks to free up some valuable work time.
And in the spirit of staying organized and balanced, we have a special book
compiled by several work-at-home moms. This book is filled with tips from
women who are balancing work and family lives. These are practical tips you can
use and start applying to your business and family life right away.

We also have a set date scheduled for the Teleseminar with Crystal of Happy
Mommy News. The date is February 13th at 1 p.m. EST. We’ll be in touch a
little later in the week with signup details. The seminar is completely free to
attend and should be very helpful for all moms and work at home moms
trying to achieve balance.
Talk to you soon,

WAHM Talk Radio Notes from Kelly
Our featured guest is Kristie Tamsevicius of WebMomz.com and she is here to talk
about a special holiday that we Work at Home Moms love!
February 12, 2007 is the fifth annual “Doing Business in Your Bathrobe Day,” a
time to celebrate the freedom home business ownership offers us.
WAHM Talk Radio's MVP Event Starts Now! Visit the site to nominate the Work at
Home Mom who you consider to be your MVP. It could be someone who inspired you
to keep trying or perhaps it's someone who showed you the ropes and helped you
improve your business this year.
We are taking nominations all through the month of February and this year we are
doing things a little differently. In previous years we took nominations and
then voted to choose one single MVP - well we have decided that anyone who makes
it through the nomination process deserves recognition and reward.
So, if an individual receives five or more unique nominations, they will become
a WAHM Talk Radio MVP for 2007. And MVP Membership has privileges! (Further
details to come during February!)
