Hi,

This week we’re going to dive straight into our topic - Finding balance as a work at home mom.

When you’re at home, you not only wear your "mom" hat but you’re also running a business at the same time. You take the kids to school, cook, clean and still manage to find time to work.

We want our businesses to succeed or we’re desperately trying to bring money in so we don’t have to go back to work outside the house. So we work, work, work and at times, without noticing it, neglect our kids (and spouses). How many of us have said to our kids, "Just a minute honey, I’m almost finished," only to find an hour has passed and your little one has fallen asleep or gotten bored waiting for mommy.

Late nights, exhaustion and trying to cram way too many things into one day is no good for us. Sometimes we have to ask, why are we home in the first place? More often than not, the answer will be, "So that I can watch my children grow up and be there for them." It’s so easy to forget that.

That’s why for the next couple of weeks we’re going to stray a little bit from the subject of marketing and concentrate on a another very important part vital to our success as business owners, women and mothers - Finding Balance.

This week I have Meredith Liepelt of Contemporary Baby as my special guest. Meredith has created her own line of fabric products for babies and has made great progress in getting the word out about her business.

She has her items in retail stores, for sale online and has even managed to slip them into gift bags at the Oscars. Not half bad for a work at home Mom is it?

I asked Meredith to share how she got started and how she has been promoting herself. She was more than happy to oblige!
