Scrapbooking has really grown in popularity over the past several years. It’s a hobby enjoyed by people from all walks of life, because it provides a fun and beautiful way to showcase your precious photos.

If you love scrapbooking, you might be surprised to learn that there are many ways you can turn your passion into a business.

Some scrapbookers sell scrapbooking supplies. By doing so, they not only make money when selling supplies to others, they can also get their own supplies at a lower price. You can do this by either joining a scrapbooking direct sales company or establishing a relationship with a wholesale supplier.

When it comes to promoting your business, a website is a great place to start. You can display your products and prior work for people to see.

Even if you prefer to work locally, a website can serve as a portfolio to which you can direct potential customers. They can view your offerings from home at their leisure and contact you when they are ready to order.

Craft fairs and festivals provide a wonderful opportunity to sell your products and services. If you’re selling supplies, take plenty of inventory and catalogs. If you’re creating scrapbooks, be sure to bring along lots of samples of your work and materials that you use.

If you love to teach the art of scrapbooking, creating an information product is another way to monetize your hobby. You could write a book or ebook, or create audio or video tutorials about various techniques. These could be geared toward beginners or experienced scrapbookers. Both groups are often eager to learn new things about their craft.

As you can see, there are several ways that you can turn your scrapbooking passion into a business. Whether you sell supplies, create scrapbooks, or share your knowledge with others, scrapbooking has great business potential.

Week in review

A few things to take note of for this week: The changes in the eBay affiliate program payout plan went into effect on June 1st. You can visit their site to find out more.

A couple months ago, Cafe Press moved their affiliate program to Commission Junction. May 31st was the final day for their in-house program to be active. If you are an affiliate and have not updated your link, you may be losing out on commissions.

Finally, Internet Based Moms has a new support area. http://www.internetbasedmoms.com/support.html We have a growing list of frequently asked questions that you can browse through and if you don’t find an answer, submit a support email and we’ll try to help.

On a personal note… I want to thank Linda for the dedication she has shown to Internet Based Moms over the years and for her help and guidance throughout the transition period. You will be missed!
