Hi,
You may already know that starting a service business form home is a great idea
for moms. By offering a service you can quickly start making money with very
little overhead. However, to build up a loyal client base you’ll need to make
sure you’re providing top-notch service.
By providing superb service, being reliable and going the extra mile for your
clients, you’re ensuring you’ll never have to compete on price alone. And that’s
good news because someone can always be cheaper than you, but not everyone may
be able to duplicate the fantastic service you’re offering.
Here are a few tips to help your service business stand out from the crowd:
Be Reliable - Only take on the amount of work you feel you can complete in a
timely and accurate manner. When you give your clients a turn-around-time be
sure that you can meet that time.
Communicate Effectively – If your client sends you an email with some new work,
write back and let them know you’ve received it. Send them updates on how you’re
getting on with the work and reassure the clients the work will be done in a
timely manner.
Ask Questions – You should always read all instructions on a job carefully to
make sure you haven’t missed anything important. But once you read your
instructions if you’re not clear on something, it’s always best to ask
questions. Most clients will appreciate you taking the time to ask questions so
that you can do the job at hand properly.
Remain professional at all times – Business people through time learn to grow a
“thick skin” this means that a good business person doesn’t take business
matters personally. A good service provider will be receptive to feedback on
their work, whether positive or negative. If a client gives you negative
feedback, rather than being upset you should see this as an opportunity to
improve your business.
Remember, it’s those clients that ultimately are keeping your business alive.

Week in review
Avon Products, Inc. enjoyed a profitable first-quarter with revenue increasing
9% over the same period last year. Net income rose to $150 million and the
number of active representatives increased by 4%.
On a personal note.... I'm turning over my assistant editor hat at the end of
this month. But you won't notice any difference in the newsletter, aside from my
name not appearing in this section. Melody "Mel" Spier will be taking over and I
have every confidence she'll do a great job. She's been working for
InternetBasedMoms.com in other capacities for some time and like everyone
involved in the site, shares in the commitment to providing quality information.
It's been my pleasure and privilege to help deliver this incredible resource to
your inbox each week for the past several years. I hope I've contributed in some
way to your business success. I'll still be around of course... you can always
find me on the InternetBasedMoms.com message boards and I'll continue to be an
active participant in the work at home moms online community with my other
business ventures.
Here's to continued success!
