Last week we shared the AIDA copywriting formula and gave you a few tips to help improve your copywriting. As you already know, the ability to sell through your written words is very powerful.

Whether you have a product site, offer a service or are involved in affiliate marketing good writing skills are a must. Remember, people come to the internet looking for information first and foremost and it’s up to us as business owners to provide the quality content our prospects are looking for.

If you don’t have a lot of writing experience, don’t worry, you really can develop your skills over time. The best way to do this is to practice, practice, practice. Everyday write something, whether you write a few short paragraphs for an article you’d like to complete or simply jot down a few thoughts in a journal you will definitely be improving your writing.

And if it’s copywriting you want to perfect, a fantastic strategy is to hand-write a proven effective sales letter. When you hand-write the letter you’ll start to notice how certain words make you feel and you’ll get a better understanding overall of what works and what doesn’t.

Another tip is not to feel intimated when you write your sales copy. Simply tell yourself that you’re sharing information and helping your reader. If you have a great product you truly believe in, let your words tell the story. And above all let the enthusiasm show through in your writing. No one wants to read a plain, boring sales page – put some energy into it and get your readers excited about your product.

And if you’re still not convinced you really can write a good copy, record it instead. Use your favorite audio program and record your thoughts on your product in a direct and precise way (don’t forget to list the benefits). Transcribe the audio and then go back through your transcript and edit, add key points and put it all into a nice structure. Recording your thoughts on a product is really a great way to write natural-sounding copy.

WAHM Talk Radio Notes from Kelly 

I have co-hosts this week! Carrie Lauth and Marie Ynami are joining me for this show. Marie has a great event coming up later in May that I'm participating in, that is the 4th Annual MommyFest  Carrie has a new Natural WAHM Message Board.
