As you can see we have a new look! I hope you like it. We're also going to have some announcements soon you won't want to miss. Big things are happening at Internet Based Moms and we're working hard to bring you the best resources on the net for work at home moms. 


In this issue, we're talking about copywriting. Copywriting can be a scary word... especially if you're just starting out, but it really doesn't have to be.  Our feature article reveals a formula that takes the mystery out of copywriting!


Today also marks the first day of breast cancer awareness month.  At Internet Based Moms we help breast cancer charities throughout the year by donating a percentage of ad sales.  Thank you for all your support in the past years and we hope you continue to help.  Please go to breast cancer awareness to learn more about breast cancer and how you can get involved.

Five Questions to Copywriting Success

Copywriting can be a scary word, especially if you’re just getting started.  Now what if I were to tell you there’s an EASY way to write copy?  Yep, it’s the five questions copywriting formula.  It’s pretty straight forward and will make writing your copy a snap.  

Your first step is to know your product and the target market.  This usually takes research and time.  Of course, if you’re writing the sales copy for your own product you should already have this information.  

Now that you’re armed with your research, lets start writing… 

Start by answering these five simple questions in a straight forward manner.  At this point don’t worry about how your wording flows or reads, just answer write in your answers.   

Here are your five questions: 

1.  What’s the problem?   A product or service should always solve a problem and fill a need.  What problem is your product solving? 

2.  What’s possible?  This is the promise your product makes.  What are the possibilities when your customer uses your product – will they lose weight, make more money, be happier? 

3.  Why hasn’t the problem been solved?  Why is your customer still having this problem?  How does your product solve the problem that other products haven’t been able to solve? 

4.  What’s different now?  Here you introduce yourself and/or your product.  Explain why your product is different and will solve your customers problem. 

5.  What should happen now?  This is where you ask the customer to take action – fill out a form, click the “buy now” button – be precise and clear in your instructions and don’t leave it up to your customer to decide what to do.  Tell them what to do.  

Once you’ve answered these questions you’ll have the basics for your copy.  Now go back and inject emotion, personality and add your finishing touches and you’re done!  Not too bad huh?  Next time you’re stumped or unsure where to start use this formula and you’ll see how quickly you’ll get those creative juices flowing.
