Business Etiquette - Quick Tips for Work at Home Moms

Business Meetings in the Home

As a mother and businesswoman, meetings to discuss business can be conveniently held in the home. Here are some helpful tips when conducting business meetings in your home.

You are responsible for the refreshments, unless another offers to bring something. It is proper to serve coffee during a morning meeting, while tea, coffee or cold drinks should be offered in the afternoon.

In such an informal and comfortable setting, guests may tend to socialize and delay leaving after the meeting has concluded. If the meeting is officially over and you would like those individuals to depart, simply stand up and say, “I appreciate you coming and I feel that we certainly got a lot accomplished today, thank you again for coming.” This succinct, yet polite statement should get the point across that it is time to leave.
