Rosalind Gardner's Super Affiliate Handbook Review

Rosalind Gardner’s Super Affiliate Handbook was written in 2003 and has since been regularly updated, the most recent being 2009.

It is still considered the best resource for starting an affiliate marketing business from home. It’s now used in colleges and other learning institutions as the “how to” guide to affiliate marketing.

Personal Experience: 

This is actually THE book that got me started in this business. I remember one night surfing the net looking for “work from home” options and finding a review of this book on a work at home mom website.

When I first read the review and looked at the Super Affiliate Handbook website I had no clue what it all meant, it was like I was reading another language. But still my gut instincts told me it was the right thing to do and to go for it. I’m so glad I did.  

I quickly read the book from cover to cover that same night. Slowly the basics of this business started making sense, even though I still had a ton of questions.

I went to bed with my head buzzing with excitement and anticipation – I hadn’t felt like that in a long time. The next day I read the whole thing again and this time I made notes as I went along. I started to “get it.” 

A few weeks later, my first website was built. Six weeks after that I got my first affiliate check. 

And although I went on to read many, many more books on the topic of internet marketing, the Super Affiliate Handbook was my window into this exciting world of internet business.

I am so thankful to have found this book that late night in my search for a better life.  

The Book: 

November 2009: I just finished reading the new version of the Super Affiliate Handbook and although somewhat different to that first version I purchased back in 2004, the basic concepts are still the same.

But the book as a whole is actually better, which is great news for those of you purchasing it now.  

It’s 210 pages and includes a full introduction to affiliate marketing – what is it and how you make money doing it. 

A few other things included:  

How to find a niche and profit from it 

Planning and building your site 

Monetizing your site  

How to market your site 

How to grow your business  

And lots of other content to help you become a super affiliate, just like Rosalind.  

What I really like: 

What I really like about this book is that it’s a no-nonsense guide to starting an online affiliate marketing business. Rosalind reveals the good but also the bad aspects of this business.

It’s not all smooth sailing and she’s honest and upfront about that, but also gives you the tools to cope with issues that may come up – such as what to do if an affiliate program doesn’t pay you on time.  

This book will arm you with all the information you need to start your own successful affiliate marketing business. As Rosalind says this business isn’t rocket science as long as you have a plan and know what you’re doing from the start.  

Is affiliate marketing for you? 

For me, this is the best business model for online business, especially when you’re just starting out.

Here are just a few of the benefits: 

You don’t need a huge amount of money to get started – in fact you can be up and running on a shoe-string budget.  

You don’t need to hold inventory or store products and deal with shipping and order processing.  

You don’t need to deal with customer complaints (the vendor deals with all that) 

You don’t need to set up a merchant account or other niggling business start-up issues 

You can work around your present job and commitments – then when you build your business to the right level you can quit your job – so you take no risks or chances when starting out 

You can do this part-time for a little extra money or go on to build a million dollar empire if that’s what you desire and work towards 

You don’t need technical experience – I am VERY non-technical and I was able to do it 

You don’t need a degree, further education – just a desire to learn and follow a few simple steps  

It was the ease and simplicity of this business that really made sense for me. I also love the fact that I can pretty much write my own pay checks – I get back what I put into this.

But mostly I love the freedom affiliate marketing gives me. I can work around the needs of my family and from anywhere in the world. To me that’s what it’s really all about – freedom.  

Summary: 

I can’t recommend this book enough. It’s a great starting point to any profitable affiliate marketing business.

It was my starting point and now nearly 6 years later I make a consistent 6-figure plus income working only a few hours a week and applying the same principles this book taught me.  

One final thought: 

Be weary of books and programs that promise you the world. I learned that lesson the hard way. If you decide to purchase this book, read it from cover to cover and apply what you learn.  

Follow the steps and take the necessary action, and you too will succeed in this business.
